Introduction of Our Laboratory

Ship performance especially for resistance, propulsion and maneuverability are researched using tank test and theoretical or numerical techniques. Ship hull forms are also designed and evaluated in order to improve the performance. Our latest concern is to investigate the navigation safety in regular / irregular waves on the open sea, or when sailing in restricted waters such as narrow channel.

Methane hydrate is one of hot topics for our laboratory, too. It is a challenging project to establish the efficient transportation way.
